A Quilting of Scars

Did you know that many women served as soldiers and spies during the American Civil War?

I’m continuing to work on my novel about women in the Civil War but have now embedded it in a larger manuscript. The book will be a blend of historical fiction within the thriller genre, with some satire thrown in for good measure. It’s been so much fun to work on. I’ve spent a year doing research on the American Civil War and so now the writing part is just sheer joy. I plan to finish the first draft by the end of June and spend the summer editing it. The editing is always the grunt work. I hope that readers will think that it’s fun too.
